We are working with a very well-established, multi office Law Firm who are looking to attract an experienced ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified Financial Director to oversee/lead their finance function as a key member of the firm's senior leadership team.
Previous experience of working with SRA accounts rules is essential.
The role will involve:
- Advising and guiding the Senior Leadership Team in commercial finance matters
- Maintaining all finance and accounts processes and compliance with SRA requirements
- Undertaking responsibility as the firm’s registered COFA (Compliance Office for Finance and Administration)
- Maintaining records of compliance and regulatory breaches and reporting these to the SLT
- Leading the development of the finance strategy across all areas of the business
- Providing financial analysis and guidance on all activities, plans, targets and business drivers
- Managing cash flow by monitoring expenditure, supervising billing and credit control
- Managing the renewal process of the Practising Certificates for Solicitors, and assisting with renewal of Profession Indemnity Insurance
- Responsibility for cash management with the ultimate goal of managing the Firm’s liquidity and mitigating any operational, financial and reputational risk
- Improving and automating financial systems and processes
- Supervising and managing legal cash office staff
Suitable candidates will have:
- Qualified status - ACA, ACCA or CIMA
- Previous experience and sound knowledge of working with Legal Accounts (SAR) and regulatory requirements
- Experience of working for a firm with £3m+ turnover
- Experience of leading a finance function as Head of Department or Director
This is a full time permanent job, working 9am to 5.15pm Monday to Friday.
