Our head office is based in central Manchester and is the home to many of our central functions. Due to continued business growth, we are delighted to be recruiting for a Financial Planning & AnalysisAnalyst to support all FP&A activities for the BES Group.

As the FP&A Analyst, you will report in to the FP&A Manager and work closely with the Head of Commercial Finance, other members of the finance team and the wider business to achieve a consistent level of high performance.

We’d love to hear from experienced Financial Planning & Analysis analysts, Finance Business Partners or Transaction Services professionals who are CIMA, ACA, ACCA (or equivalent) part-qualified, ideally in the transactional services industry or from matrix environments.  

You must able to communicate confidently, credibly and effectively as you will be working with people from across all levels of our business. This is a key role and you will be expected to demonstrate initiative and have experience of preparing business critical insights.

You will possess strong analytical skills and experience of understanding and challenging the numbers. As a proficient and experienced finance professional who isn't afraid of a challenge, you’ll enjoy our changing environment as we continue to grow at an impressive pace!

What will I be doing?  

No two days are the same at the BES Group, our business model is unique, with multiple companies and private equity backing - the autonomy and exposure you will get is unparalleled. As the Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst you will take responsibility for:  

  • Ad-hoc value added analysis
  • Supporting the FP&A Manager in maintaining, updating and improving the business model (P&L, balance sheet and cashflow)
  • Supporting the FP&A Manager with budgeting and forecasting cycles
  • Proactively improve reporting, ensuring documented processes for key recurring tasks are maintained
  • Provide critical support ensuring that reporting is ‘value added’ with a focus on challenging and evaluating the numbers. Support transition to ‘future focus’
  • Contribute to ad-hoc projects e.g. Support improving the business model / Investigating alternatives to Excel based modelling
  • Support business case Capex reviews
  • Provide critical support on IT Opex requests / business partnering
  • Assist with new acquisitions where needed and ensure their results can be consolidated into the business model and accurately reflected within budgets and forecasts
  • Production of accurate group Board reports in line with deadlines
  • Contribute to the delivery of a high performing, best-practice finance team
  • Identify opportunities to improve finance processes and systems and be pro-active in implementing these changes.
  • Build, develop and maintain strong relationships with finance colleagues and other senior managers.

What experience do I need?  

To work for us you must have the right attitude, aptitude and appetite for what we do; Keeping Britain Safe. You’ll also offer:  

  • CIMA, ACA or ACCA (or equivalent) to part-qualified level (essential)
  • Experience of preparing accurate and timely Board reports
  • Experience supporting on ad-hoc insight requests
  • Experience of budget and forecast cycles
  • Extensive experience of using PowerPoint
  • Highly proficient Excel skills (particularly pivots, sumifs, index match, lookups financial modelling techniques).
  • Experience of maintaining process documentation for key recurring tasks
  • Strong technical, numeracy and analytical skills, with the desire to learn new technical and analytical skills
  • Attention to detail and enthusiasm to challenge and improve processes.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong internal relationships with finance and non-finance colleagues.
  • Strong organisation skills with the ability to work to tight deadlines and to prioritise workloads.
  • Able to present financial information to colleagues in a clear, concise and confident manner.
  • Self-motivated and proactive with the ability to work independently & as part of a team.
  • Bachelor’s Degree - minimum 2:1 (desirable)
