What you'll do:
As a Financial Reporting Accountant, you will play an integral role within our dynamic team. Your primary responsibility will be to contribute to the delivery of comprehensive financial reports on a monthly, half-yearly, and annual basis. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to new business development initiatives, particularly those focused on bulk purchase annuities. Your participation in significant Finance Transformation projects will be crucial, particularly those involving the implementation of a new general ledger system. Your analytical skills will be put to good use as you analyse results, query figures, and provide insightful commentary on available data.
Contribute and collaborate with the Financial Reporting team on the delivery of regular financial and regulatory reports
Provide input and contribute to new business development with a specific focus on bulk purchase annuities
Participate actively in Finance Transformation projects, including the delivery of a new general ledger and associated processes
Prepare and reconcile working papers and trial balance to support Financial Reporting processes
Analyse results, query figures, and provide insights on available data
Assist with the preparation of monthly MI and provision of commentary
Liaise with third parties such as external auditors and fund custodians to resolve any queries
Support ongoing Finance projects (system; regulatory)
Perform ad hoc tasks as required
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Financial Reporting Accountant position is a qualified accountant (ACA; ACCA) with strong analytical skills. You should have good working knowledge of General Ledger systems and Microsoft Excel. Your ability to solve complex problems that have broad impacts will be crucial in this role. Experience with systems implementation will be beneficial. While not essential, experience in Insurance Financial Reporting either through audit or within insurance companies, as well as knowledge of IFRS17 requirements, would be advantageous.
Qualified accountant (ACA; ACCA)
Good working knowledge of General Ledger and Microsoft Excel
Strong financial analyst skills able to solve complex problems that have broad impacts
Knowledge of systems implementation
Experience of Insurance Financial Reporting either through audit or in Insurance companies is desirable
Knowledge of IFRS17 requirements is desirable
