Job description

Got a flair for Finance? We’re hunting for a new Financial Reporting Manager with skills in strategic thinking, complex problem solving and financial analysis to join our Central Finance team in Bath.

The role would ideally suit a qualified CIMA/ACCA accountant with a keen interest in report writing and data analysis. You will also support the FP&A activities within the practice.

Key duties

  • Report scoping, design, and development when new areas for analysis and review are required by the business.
  • Finance superuser for Data Model created by the in-house BI team. Using the Data Model to create a significant volume of both regular and one-off reports including Power BI dashboards.
  • Using data to analyse ad-hoc business queries.
  • Preparation of monthly and quarterly financial and operational performance packs – including budgets and forecasts.
  • Develop and maintain the existing reporting suite and finance templates with the focus on global alignment.
  • Support with report maintenance and updates when changes are made to the systems or Business Unit structure.
  • Work closely with the IT and BI teams to drive updates and enhancements to the system capabilities.

Your skills and experience

  • Qualified CIMA/ACCA.
  • Significant financial analysis and numerical capability.
  • Broad experience and knowledge of accounting systems including systems development.
  • Experience working in project and BAU environments.
  • Experience of having operated at a similar level of responsibility, providing technical accounting and financial information along with guiding and supporting strategic and tactical decision making.
  • Exceptional Microsoft Excel skills: the ability to set up and maintain supporting financial systems.
  • Knowledge of Power BI for dashboard development would be advantageous.
  • Ability to use or desire to learn SQL to extract data from ERP System (training on this can be provided if required).
  • Experience of professional services or the construction industry would be an advantage.
  • Experience of Agresso accounting system would be useful but not essential.
  • Experience of Deltek Vision would be an advantage but not essential.
