Expanding Organisation seeks a Financial Reporting Manager who has a wealth of experience in statutory and interim accounts preparation and possesses specialised skills in preparing consolidated accounts. The Financial Reporting Manager will have a minimum of three years' post-qualification experience, ideally within a top 100 accounting practice, and will be tasked with driving the delivery of precise and regulatory-compliant Financial Reporting.
Duties of the Financial Reporting Manager include:
- Oversee the preparation of statutory accounts for individual entities and consolidated accounts for groups in accordance with UK GAAP and IFRS.
- Manage the complexities involved in consolidation, including dealing with acquisition accounting, intercompany transactions, foreign currency translation of international group members, and other consolidation adjustments.
- Provide technical expertise on Financial Reporting standards and apply this knowledge to advise on complex group structures and reporting requirements.
- Work with the manager group to lead a talented team in the preparation and completion of numerous Financial Reporting engagements, ensuring the quality and accuracy of deliverables.
- Coordinate effectively with clients to collate necessary data and information, resolve issues, and provide guidance on the Financial Reporting process for consolidated accounts.
- Work closely with auditors to facilitate the audit process, providing all required information whilst ensuring that audit queries are promptly resolved.
- Remain up to date with the regulatory environment, interpreting and implementing new accounting standards as they arise to separate and consolidated Financial Reporting.
- Take an active role in the development and implementation of internal controls and processes of the Financial Reporting team, to ensure the integrity of work produced.
- Ability to suggest viable solutions to complex problems and unblock or resolve all service issues for your clients and engagements.
- Enhance client relationships through exceptional service delivery and identify opportunities for additional services that benefit client needs and create new business for the firm.
- Contribute to the development and execution of strategic initiatives within the Financial Reporting department.
Requirements for the Financial Reporting Manager include:
- A professionally qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent) with a minimum of 3 years post- qualification experience.
- Proven experience in the preparation of separate and consolidated accounts for small, medium, and large companies and groups and familiarity with the related regulatory environment.
- Prior managerial role within a Financial Reporting function (a top 100 UK accounting practice is desirable).
- Comprehensive understanding of UK GAAP, IFRS, and the Companies Act requirements.
- Demonstrate leadership and team management capabilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to prioritise and manage multiple deadlines.
- Exceptional analytical, technical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Proficiency in financial software systems (CCH Accounts Production) and advanced MS Excel skills.
