What is the opportunity?
As a member of the Balance Sheet Control & Management Team, you will support the Financial Control function for key RBC entities and contributing to the internal and external reporting process.
This role presents an ideal opportunity to develop a wide range of core accounting, reporting and control skills as well as develop a key overall understanding of the Capital Markets businesses and how each operates within the legal entity framework.
What will you do?
Supporting Bank Levy calculation and forecasting processes
Supporting the Accounting Policy Interpretation Committee function and any new policy papers
Supporting New Business Committee function and assessment of Financial Control impact
Supporting month end/quarter end close processes which include, monitoring controls and accounts, processing journals, reconciliations, analytical review and preparation of monthly and quarterly MIS
Supporting statutory reporting on a range of legal entities
Liaising with external and internal auditors as required
Ensuring adequate documentation of processes and procedures are maintained
Ad hoc projects and tasks as required.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
Professional accountancy qualification
Understanding of regulation within a Banking environment
Legal Entity or Financial Control experience within a Bank (either Capital Markets or Treasury)
Experience in problem solving Financial Control issues
SOX audit knowledge.
Nice-to-have
Big 4 experience
Past working experience on relevant systems i.e. Peoplesoft, TM1.
