Financial Reporting - Senior Consultant
Location: Limerick, Ireland (onsite 3 days a week)
Contract: 12 months
As a Financial ReportingSenior Consultant, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring our clients receive unparalleled service and support. Reporting to a Divisional Manager or Head of Financial Reporting, you'll be responsible for interpreting changes to accounting standards and regulations, collaborating with external audit firms, and implementing best practices across our teams. Your role will also involve assisting with financial statement reviews, identifying training needs, and contributing to client servicing and business development initiatives.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Establish best practices to enhance client satisfaction and departmental performance.
- Review and deliver financial statements in compliance with accounting and regulatory requirements.
- Serve as the primary contact for associated Audit Firms, facilitating technical briefs and updates.
- Represent Northern Trust Financial Reporting at external forums.
- Identify training needs and set performance standards for the department.
- Guide staff in resolving complex Financial Reporting issues.
- Collaborate with Compliance and other internal stakeholders as needed.
Skills/Experience Required:
- Proven experience in the investment management industry, preferably in fund administration, asset management, or securities operations.
- Leadership and team-building skills with a focus on motivation and communication.
- Detailed knowledge of fund administration and Financial Reporting standards, including Irish/UK GAAP and IFRS.
- Familiarity with leading Fund Accounting and Financial Reporting systems.
- Ability to contribute to long-term departmental strategy.
- Experience in client representation, client service culture development, and business development.
- Strong people management skills, including designing development plans and training initiatives.
- Qualifications in relevant professional fields and managerial/PC skills training.
- Personal qualities such as discipline, enthusiasm, confidence, and resilience.
