Our Financial Services Advisory team work with Financial institutions that are exposed to risk on a daily basis. Our Financial Services Advisory team provides consultative problem solving together with core regulatory, governance, internal audit, actuarial and risk management services that help our clients succeed.
The Director will play a key role in supporting the Financial Services Advisory Partner develop and deliver the advisory strategy. This opportunity offers a variety of advisory and independent assurance projects for Financial Services firms across all FS sectors to develop propositions and services for BDO's existing and future clients. You'll lead and deliver governance, risk management and/or conduct risk related assignments of high complexity and variety in line with BDO's defined methodologies and quality standards
You'll be someone who has:
  • Significant experience of Financial Services risk management and / or conduct and compliance related experience working within a professional service or Financial Services firm(s)
  • Knowledge and experience of at least three of the following: Internal Audit, FCA conduct rules and regulations, enterprise risk management frameworks and operating models, corporate governance / board effectiveness, credit risk, SMCR, operational resilience, consumer duty requirements, culture.
  • A strong knowledge of the Financial Services sector and the UK regulatory environment generally and have significant depth of knowledge in governance and risk management
  • An Excellent written / communication skill, ability to influence, lead, engage, and manage stakeholders with a demonstrable track record of delivery
  • The ability to lead teams, run complex reviews and be a team player
  • Demonstrable experience and expertise in undertaking advisory and assurance reviews in governance / risk management / conduct risk
  • An understanding and practical application of reviewing the three lines of defence model
  • Strong commercial management experience
