In this time, it has established itself as one of the premier shipping and installation companies, providing services to Art Dealers, Private Collections and Museums around the world.
They are now seeking a Warehouse Supervisor to join their busy team based in SW London.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience supervising a warehouse within the Fine Art sector.
Main Responsibilities:
· Supervise warehouse opening & closing procedures.
· Oversee all warehouse operations and a team of art technicians.
· Manage the scheduling of additional art handling resources and communication during busy times.
· Handling, packing, and moving of all items with extreme care and precision.
· Create and apply modern training programmes that emphasise secure handling, packing and storage of artworks.
· Supervise correct use of equipment, such as forklift trucks etc.
· Supervise Loading/Unloading of trucks and sea freight containers.
· Make sure all warehouses are clean and organised throughout.
· Maintain warehouse storage to maximise available space.
· Inventory management in order to resolve any inconsistencies.
· Ensuring all warehouse staff follow company procedures & processes.
· Ensuring all warehouse staff adhere to health & safety regulations.
· Communicate effectively with warehouse and office staff.
· Instructing Warehouse Technicians/drivers with daily tasks.
· Reporting to management on any issues and problems.
· Administrative tasks, data entry and responding to general emails.
· Liaising with clients on visits to the warehouse.
· Attend professional and educational courses if and as when required.
· Promoting high standards and professionalism at all times.
Skills Required:
· Great experience of Fine Art Handling, Packing and Transporting.
· Great experience in estimating manpower requirements and packing requirements.
· Estimating crate sizes.
· Providing training on best practice.
· Knowledge of Fine Art Logistics.
· Proven experience managing a team.
· Ability to communicate with all levels of people.
· Ability to adapt and work with flexible schedules.
· Microsoft Office experience.
