About The Role
This position is a great opportunity for the right person to be part of an exciting IT Operations Team that is at the forefront of maximising value for its business and stakeholders. Reporting into the IT Procurement Partner Lead, this is a highly accountable role focusing on working with our 3rd Party Cloud Partner and our internal Cloud Service Owners to drive value and best practice
Key Responsibilities
- Manage AWS Invoicing, liaising with internal Finance Teams and AWS to settle queries.
- Produce monthly reporting on spend, along with necessary commentary for exec review.
- Consult with Cloud Service owners to deliver cost savings based on Cloud optimization recommendations.
- Monitor and report on cost optimization opportunities and work closely with Cloud Service owner on the Cloud cost optimization activities.
- Review and refine a tagging framework and governance model.
- Work closely with Cloud Engineering and Platform teams to implement cost optimisation best practices.
- Lead cost optimisation meetings with various stakeholders to drive continuous improvement of best practice.
- Building, maintaining and developing excellent relationships with Suppliers and internal stakeholders.
About You
- You will have worked with colleagues across technology functions on successful, medium-large scale, cloud transformation programmes.
- A strong understanding of the various AWS discount initiatives.
- A passionate financial cloud advocate and who has an understanding of both financial cost management as well as infrastructure and cloud best practices.
- You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to operate well in an Agile delivery framework.
As a minimum for this role, you will need to have extensive experience of:
- You’ve operated as a cloud engineer or similar but wish to pursue a most cost focused route.
- Knowledge of AWS Services and Discount Programmes.
- An understanding of basic cloud infrastructure.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, organisational and communication skills.
- Demonstrable experience using Analytics tools eg Cost Explorer, Quicksight
- Working in a matrix management environment.
