Job Title: Fire and Security Service Engineer
Location: Covering postcodes OX / BS / SN
Salary: GBP37,000 per annum
Hours of Work:
- Monday Friday, 08:30 to 17:00
- Lunch break: 30 minutes unpaid daily
Holiday Allowance:
- 25 days per year
- Holiday year runs from January to December each year
- Increases by one additional day for each full calendar year of service completed thereafter, up to a maximum of 30 days holiday
Travel Time: Engineers are expected and agree to travel, in their own time, on the following basis:
- 30 minutes at the start of each day
- 30 minutes at the end of each day
- Travel time (paid at 1.25 x hourly rate) can be claimed when the morning travel time is exceeded and after 17:30
On-Call Rota: (To be determined based on operational requirements)
Responsibilities:
- Install, service, and maintain Fire And Security systems within the designated area.
- Conduct routine inspections and tests on fire alarms, CCTV systems, access control systems, and intruder alarms.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose technical issues with Fire And Security systems, implementing effective solutions.
- Complete necessary paperwork and documentation accurately and promptly.
- Provide excellent customer service, liaising with clients to understand their requirements and ensure satisfaction.
- Comply with all health and safety regulations and company procedures.
- Participate in training and development activities to enhance technical skills and knowledge.
- Collaborate with colleagues and supervisors to achieve team objectives and meet performance targets.
- Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition.
- Participate in the on-call rota as required, responding promptly to emergency call-outs outside of standard working hours.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Service Engineer in the Fire And Security industry.
- Sound knowledge of fire alarm systems, CCTV systems, access control systems, and intruder alarms.
- Technical proficiency in diagnosing and repairing faults in electronic systems.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and colleagues.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Full UK driving license.
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., FIA units, NSI certification) preferred but not essential.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and participate in the on-call rota.
