The Role

As our Fire and Security Technical Support, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the management of fire safety and building security maintenance and upgrades, including the day-to-day management of the contract’s operatives. You will also deputise for the Fire Safety Systems Manager on occasion.
You will also ensure fire safety & buildings security system maintenance is carried out safely and in compliance with the relevant statutory legislation, codes of practice, best practice and delivered effectively and make sure that systems faults are expediently identified and addressed.
To be successful, you will require fire industry knowledge, inducing active and passive measures of fire defence. You will also require the ability to manage contract works/workers.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Preparation of written safe systems of work and EDC applications.
- Providing engineering solutions and advice on new fire safety and building security installations.
- Project management of fire safety and building security upgrades, including assisting with production of specifications, through the tender process and supervision of contractors on site to final sign off.
- Carry out inspections, audits, and sign-offs of completed works, including maintenance and new installations at the point of commissioning and handover to ensure compliance with fire safety and building security standards.
- Managing the team's Fire Safety Compliance tools and chasing up outstanding actions.
- Managing site-wide fire drills, ensuring suitable records are kept and actions resulting from the drills are facilitated.
Qualifications
Essential Requirements:
- Demonstratable knowledge of managing internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
- Proven working knowledge of safety management.
- Solid understanding of installing and maintaining fire safety and building security systems.
- Computer literate, use of Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel, experience in the use of Computerised Maintenance Management Systems and the interrogation of system data
