- 42 Hours (Full Time - Shift and Day working)
An aviation firefighter must adhere to all regulations and procedures to respond to emergency situations and protect life and property. Our firefighters must efficiently mobilise resources, maintain effective working relationships with internal and external bodies, and promote a professional image of the airport. Likewise, you will be required to maintain the required level of professional competence to uphold the airports license and your ability to respond to emergencies.
Other duties include providing feedback to superiors, proposing recommendations for improvement, maintaining equipment, and promoting safe working practices. Aviation firefighters are also responsible for personal and team compliance with health and safety policies, being knowledgeable about the airport facilities to assist passengers, and always maintaining professional standards.

- No prior Fire Service experience and UK resident for the last 3 years
- 5 G.C.S. E’s at Grade 4 or above including Maths and English or equivalent.
- Full valid, clean UK Driving Licence
- Must pass health and fitness tests.
- Must also pass a full CAA medical (hearing, eye, physical stamina, lung function)
• Stage 1 - Online application including an up to date CV and covering letter (Advert will close on Sunday 26th May)
- Stage 2 – Video assessment
- Stage 4 Written aptitude test. 12th June
- Stage 5 Fitness test day
- Stage 6 Interview
- If successful in all the above, you will be required to pass a CAA medical assessment.
- Applicants must be available for 8-week residential course at Fire Service College commencing 30th September to 22nd November 2024.
