The Role

Do you possess a degree or professional diploma in Fire Safety engineering, coupled with experience of implementing fire engineering solutions? Are you an expert in Fire Safety regulations with a talent for practical solutions? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you.

We are a passive fire protection specialist, looking to appoint an experienced and knowledgeable Fire Safety Engineer to our growing team.

You will use your expertise to provide technical fire engineering advice on a range of buildings throughout the design, construction and occupancy phases.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identifying fire-related risks and advising on how to reduce or eliminating them.
• Producing fire strategy documents for new and existing buildings.
• Producing Fire Safety management plans for new and existing buildings.
• Advising on Fire Safety measures at design and construction stages.
• Making recommendations for the materials used in the construction or refurbishment of a building including the external wall systems.
• Visiting project/construction sites to advise on the installation or implementation of the designs.
• Providing technical advice on safe building occupancy levels, fire evacuation plans etc.
• Liaising with local authorities and/or building control professionals as required.
• Take a lead role in developing and growing our fire engineering capability.
• Provide high quality technical fire consultancy to clients.
• Keep abreast of current legislation, relevant national and international standards and guidelines and technical developments within the relevant field.
• Respond to requests for client work and proposals in a timely manner.
• Working closely with our business development team developed positive client relationships.

The Person

• A degree or professional diploma in Fire Safety engineering or equivalent.
• Membership of the Institution of Fire Engineers or Institute for Fire Safety Managers.
• Significant experience of implementing fire engineering solutions in a range of settings.
• Excellent knowledge of the current and emerging Fire Safety legislation framework.
• Strong analytical and report writing ability.
• Ability to verbally communicate complex information simply and concisely.
• Positive approach to the challenges of change and see change as an opportunity not a threat.
• Ability to prioritise and schedule objectives to optimise time, cost and quality.
• Strives to improve performance and uses innovative methods to get there.
