Join the Facilities Management Team at Bury Council, a team that prides itself on over five decades of experience and extensive regulatory and legislative knowledge. We are looking for a Fire Safety Officer to ensure the safety and compliance of all Council buildings, including housing, schools, public estate buildings, and offices.
Day to day of the role:- Create and implement Fire Safety management strategies across all Council buildings, including markets, leisure centres, and residential accommodations.
- Proactively implement and oversee Fire Safety measures to ensure the safety of all Council buildings.
- Regularly create new and update existing Fire Risk Assessments to maintain high standards of Fire Safety.
- Prepare and deliver comprehensive Fire Safety training to Designated Responsible Persons.
- Ensure all fire precautions meet the appropriate standards and comply with relevant legislation, regulations, and Codes of Practice.
- A Level 3 qualification in Fire Safety and risk management, e.g., NEBOSH National Certificate in Fire Safety & Risk Management or equivalent.
- An Institute of Fire Engineers approved qualification in Advanced Fire Risk Assessment.
- Experience in maintaining a quality information system and investigating incidents, including fires.
- Expertise in advising on appropriate Fire Safety precautions and fire risk control measures.
