Robert Walters is assisting a national logistics giant with the recruitment of a First Line Manager to join their Lutterworth operation.
First Line Manager Role responsibilities:
- Manage loading/unloading to clear floor in line with operational instructions
- Ensuring all company environmental policies and procedures are implemented
- Manage operational procedures
- Resolve immediate operational problems
- Maintain quality procedures
- Planning of employee resource levels and 3rd party resource to achieve operational targets
- Complete daily operational reports
- Achieve set KPI's in terms of productivity
- Hold regular briefing meetings with employees to communicate relevant information
- Manage staffing levels in terms of areas worked by staff, FLT manning and breaks taken
- Implement and monitor the effectiveness of the Health and Safety policy
- Effectively manage and motivate employees in designated area
- Assist in recruitment of employees, through interviewing and induction training
- Ensure appropriate training is given to current employees
- Ability to forge strong working relationship
First Line Manager Requirements:
- Experience of managing a team of 10+ is essential
- Able to work night shift hours
- Must have worked within a process driven environment
- Able to work in a fast paced and ever changing environment
- Prior experience gained within distribution is advantageous
