We are looking for a hardworking, enthusiastic individual to join our dedicated team of front of house staff working in Spooner’s.
We can offer you:
- £11.44 per hour for applicants aged 21 and over, £8.60 per hour for under 21s
- Permanent contract to start 18th March 2024
- Variable hours: up to 40 hours per week during the operating season from March to October, reduced hours in winter months; minimum of 16 hrs per week guaranteed

Key duties will include serving customers either at the café counter, at table, or at the bar; handling money, clearing tables and assisting with kitchen duties. The successful candidate may also be asked to work at the Tan y Bwlch Station Tea Room, or on our train services as a Steward, providing variety and the opportunity to develop your skills. Experience of working in a café or restaurant would be an advantage but not essential as full training will be provided.
The successful candidate will thrive working in a fast-paced, busy environment. The ideal candidate would be flexible and able to work shifts over days, evenings and weekends.
Core Skills:
- Experience in a Front of House role

- The ability to work cleanly and tidily
- A basic knowledge and understanding of food and kitchen hygiene is desirable
This is a predominantly Welsh speaking area and the Company operates a bilingual policy. The ability to converse in Welsh is therefore desirable for this post, but not essential. Knowledge of locations on the Railways and their use by visitors and knowledge of Porthmadog and the surrounding area would be an advantage.
