Forklift Truck Engineer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Engineer to join our expanding forward thinking Material Handling Company. Working as part of our clients workshop, your role will be interesting and varied day to day which will include ongoing requirement for servicing and preventative maintenance work, of both IC powered and electric equipment, you will be expected to carry out diagnosis and subsequent repair work to both clients and the company s owned equipment.

Specific duties will be as follows but not limited to;

• Servicing, preventative maintenance and repair of both company owned and customer forklift truck ensuring unscheduled repairs are minimised.
• Thorough Examination Inspection
• Overhaul of used equipment ready for sale, including painting.
• Carry out pre-hire and post hire checks
• Assisting site engineers when required.
• Completion of documentation to company standards
• Work within Health & Safety requirements at all time.
• Computer literate

As an experienced Material Handling engineer you will have gained experience from a similar role and have an in-depth knowledge of Material Handling equipment. You will also need the following skills and experience:

• In-depth mechanical and electrical experience including strong diagnosis and repair skills
• Mechanical apprenticeship or C & G level 2 & 3
• Experience in a similar role is essential
• Experience of hydraulics and electrical equipment
• Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise in a clear and concise way
• A flexible and helpful attitude to work
• To be able to work as part of a team or off of your own initiative
• A full driving licence
• A competent tool kit
• Flexible working hours
