Are you looking for a high-profile role, that enables you to have an oversight and a true understanding of National Grid’s Business Model?

 

We’re looking for a proactive FP&A Analyst to support the Business Planning processes which covers 10 years of forecasting as well as increase effectiveness and maximise insight in line with National Grid’s strategic aims. Joining the wider Controllership & FP&A team, your focus will be on supporting the quarterly forecasting process by liaising with the business to gather inputs and calculate the alternative performance measures.

 

We’d hope to see you in our Warwick office at least two days per week but you’re welcome to be in the office more often if that would work best for you. We’re happy to discuss any additional flexibility in working patterns or requirements that you feel could help to make this job work for you!

 


Key Accountabilities:

 

  • Support delivery of the end-to-end Strategic Business Planning process including full modelling and scenario planning and the preparation of Entity Executive reporting, Entity Board reporting and Group reporting.
  • Assist in calculating and maintaining the alternative performance measures, including Return of Equity, RAV, Regulatory Financial Performance, Timing etc. Both for planning and actuals processes.
  • Support processes by setting accurate timetables, key performance metrics and guidance to ensure delivery to agreed timescales and stakeholder requirements.
  • Act as a partner for assigned stakeholders to support them in generating and interpreting business and financial information and using it effectively to make informed business decisions.
  • Proactively build own knowledge of RIIO regulatory framework and its impact on the industry and the business to support key decisions and advise and guide own business area.                        
  • Review and challenge Entity performance to provide insightful reporting, aligned to group and entity targets.
  • Support FP&A responsibilities including budgeting and forecasting, and other internal and external management reporting, and working with Investor Relations where needed.
  • Provide ad hoc analysis as and when required.

About You:

 

  • Qualified or near qualified Accountant (ACCA, ACA, or CIMA) with planning, forecasting, and budgeting experience
  • Strong MS Excel skill and working knowledge of financial modelling.
  • Reporting Financial Information, Financial & Investment Appraisal, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Forecasting experience
  • Working knowledge of accounting systems (preferable)
  • Good commercial understanding
  • Ability to influence and shape decisions.
  • Detail orientated, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to build relationships across the business and influence stakeholders.
  • Confident in summarising complex transactions, weighing up all the relevant factors, such as how transactions impact other areas of the business to senior management.

Up to £45,000 - £52,000 per annum - dependent on experience.

This is a hybrid working role from our Warwick office with minimum 2 days in the office and more over busier periods.
