Freelance Geospatial Product Owner

Darwin Recruitment are currently hiring for a Freelance GIS Product Owner in Paris or on remote basis, but able to travel to Paris from time to time, for a business that was formed in 1924, currently has 100,000 employees across 130 countries to work in a team in Paris with 55 employees already on a 1-year freelance contract. This company is a global integrated multi-energy company that produces and markets energies, oil, biofuels, natural gas, green gas, renewables and electricity.

CONTEXT

Geospatial processes and makes available georeferenced data for the whole of the company: maps, satellite images, point clouds and 3D models, videos from UAV or ROV underwater surveys, points of interest, and much more. This data is essential to the business processes: analysis of spatial imagery data, energy infrastructure development projects, decision support. The Geospatial team is looking for a Product Owner to help building the companies new cloud-native GeoPlatform. This new platform will meet the challenges of the energy transition and will support all business domains linked to spatialized data. The Product Owner of the Eugéa Squad, made up of 3 internal Tech Leads in distinct fields (Data, Devops, GIS) and 3 contracted persons, will contribute to the iterative construction of this platform.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Contribute to building the companies new 'cloud-native' GeoPlatform, which will meet the challenges of the energy transition and support all business domains linked to spatialized data.
• Orchestrate the development of the GeoPlatform on the Azure cloud, ensuring the gathering of business requirements, their breakdown into user stories, testing and validation, right through to delivery.
• Organize and lead agile rituals, contribute to building the roadmap, report on the squad's follow-up and value production. Make proposals to improve existing business processes and propose new ones.
• Coordinate the progressive change management of the entire department towards the cloud.

PROFILE REQUIRED

• More than 5 years' experience as a Product Owner, with experience on a large-scale project involving several domains, preferably around MS Azure.
• Advanced knowledge of agile methods and monitoring tools.
• Strong knowledge of GIS or another Geospatial domain.
• Good listening, communication and change management skills, and good technical IT skills, ideally in a cloud context.
• Language : Fluent in French and English
• Location: Remote from France, with regular meetings and working sessions in Paris offices
• Duration: 1-year
