JOB TITLE: Product Owner - Data Gateway Lab

SALARY: £57,550pa - £70,300pa plus benefits

LOCATION: Manchester

HOURS: Full-Time

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, and the role will require the successful candidate to be spending at least two days per week, or a minimum of 40% of their time in the Manchester hub.

Our team

We are the Data Gateway Lab. Our goal is to democratise Lloyds Bank's data. Building and managing the future centralised nervous system, shifting our data ingestion and wrangling product set to an emerging cloud strategy and real time streaming analytics capability to get closer to our customers.

We are currently supporting 1000s of processes across the Bank, acting as the Enterprise Data Integration function within the Bank for Retail, Insurance, Risk, Fraud, Customer Insight, Commercial and Corporate businesses.

Core purpose of the role

The Lab is looking for Team Product Owners to help drive the roadmap and vision for our enterprise sourcing and ingestion products which will support the needs of all our business areas, helping unlock and accelerate business benefits.

You are joining us at an exciting time of transformation. You will report into the Lead Product Owner, and you would take responsibility for a single product which contains 1-2 features, journeys, or technology components. You will be responsible for the release of incremental value contributing towards a holistic product, project or service with the main goal of realising value for customers and stakeholders by ensuring that the team are working on the right priorities.

What you will be responsible ror:

  • Define user stories at team level to meet customer needs and work with the Customer Journey Manager to analyse user stories for customer journey improvements.

  • Aligning and drafting the delivery plan, including timelines.

  • Reporting on delivery progress to the stakeholders and the leadership team, highlighting risks and issues in a timely manner and recommending approaches for resolution.

  • Collaborating with the team of engineers and integrators on identifying and implementing necessary governance and interlocking across stakeholders.

  • Implement development frameworks for their area, coach and mentor others in the organisation.

Skills needed for this role:

  • Product Ownership - Take ownership of products and the product lifecycle, from research to backlog to release. Understand how the products work and how you can deliver improvements. Use storytelling to articulate the product vision, manage a backlog and prioritise items appropriately.

  • Agile Mindset - Work with an agile mindset and within agile methodologies to drive pace and adaptability in the delivery of value. Be comfortable in an ever-changing product, technology and working environment.

  • Collaborator - Able to inspire and encourage the best from multi-disciplinary, mixed, geographically distributed teams, aligning them toward common goals and helping them understand our customer's challenges and translate them into real solutions.

  • Data Domain Knowledge - Have a working understanding of data sourcing, ingestion and wrangling products and how they fit with cloud technologies and an understanding of the technology behind your product. Stay up to date with industry best practice and product and making recommendations on relevant POCs or new product features.

  • Stakeholder Management - Building effective relationships with stakeholders and teams, engaging with business leads to understand long-term strategic challenges. Prioritise product needs, balancing competing demands and maintaining a clear product vision.

  • Data Driven - Able to use data to power decision-making and support the development of OKRs. Provide evidence of incremental improvements, on-going performance and areas of requiring potential future development.
