This is a Full-Time role, working 5/7 days including weekends/evenings and mornings. The salary for the role will be £38000-42000pa depending on experience. To be considered for the role you must have:
Prior managerial experience in a senior position in a hotel or similar establishment of 4-5* quality
Level 3 Food Hygiene qualification
Demonstrable leadership skills
Computer literacy: experience with databases and booking systems
WSET wine qualification or similar
Overall objectives In conjunction with the Head of Catering Services, be responsible for the organisation and supervision of all College catering services, whilst ensuring the provision of the highest levels of service throughout the College during term time and vacations. Oversee the successful delivery of highest quality food and beverage operations for Alumni & Development functions, SCR events, conferences. Managing the profitability of the commercially run outlets including the café, pizza bars. To ensure the Department operates within budget and to seek continued operational and financial improvements, whilst operating within the College's aims. Key responsibilities
Service standards
Ensure that provision of services meet or exceed expectations of College members and conference delegates
Ensure service for each meal period to agreed standards of service while maintaining all food hygiene standards whist ensuring all dietary requirement and allergens are correctly implemented
Agree attendance with line manager at significant rostered events (within Hall, SCR, Bar and Cafe team), as required
Administration
Prepare rota and payroll, in consultation with the HoCS and Catering Administrator for all catering staff (including casual staff) ensuring compliance within pre-set budgetary limits
At least annually, formally appraise all catering staff and set their SMART objectives
Submit Returns for all internal function, dinner, wine in consultation with the HoCS and Catering Administrator
Submit accurate time sheets in consultation with Catering Administrator and records of hours worked by all staff and prepare staff wage sheets for weekly sign-off by the HoCS
Health & safety
Work closely with chefs on dietary information and delivery of these meals
Ensure staff comply with hygiene, food safety, manual handling and COSHH regulations and that appropriate temperature control monitoring is maintained, and records kept
Training
Monitor the effectiveness of staff training (including food hygiene, CoSHH and allergen awareness) to ensure high quality service provision and compliance with food hygiene regulations
