The role


The role will work across the Medivet business to identify, design and implement an engaging and progressive Core Skills curriculum for colleagues that will enable the business to keep and find even more exceptional people. ‘Core skills’ encompasses a broad range of capabilities that are required across both our non-clinical and clinical roles at Medivet and which enable the successful execution of our core processes, systems, and service standards as well as core management capabilities.


The role offers a real opportunity to help shape and guide how we deliver learning and build capability within this exciting and growing organisation and most importantly enable improvements in business outcomes and performance.


Role accountabilities

  • Lead on the design and development of Medivet’s Core Skills curriculum, providing the business with a broad range of development offerings that equip colleagues with the fundamental skills & capabilities to operate effectively in role.
  • Work in partnership with key business areas to effectively diagnose specific skill/knowledge gaps and implement learning solutions that are fit for purpose and enable improved performance of our people and ultimately our business.
  • Develop engaging, relevant, and impactful learning solutions utilising instructional design principles and working closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and other relevant partners across the business.
  • Work closely with our Digital Learning Manager to think creatively and innovatively about how to digitally enable our learning offerings where appropriate i.e., virtual classroom, e-learning, video, job aids, reference guides.
  • Work in partnership with the Divisional People Managers to ensure alignment and integration of agreed Core Skills priorities within divisional people plans.
  • Project manage multiple stakeholders and pieces of work, tracking progress across all key areas of focus and ensuring the on-time delivery of agreed outcomes.
  • Ensure all learning solutions and interventions are clearly linked to a measurement strategy so that the return on investment and value to the business can be easily articulated.
  • Coordinate and facilitate training sessions/workshops in an engaging, clear, and concise way online and in-person and in close collaboration with internal and external SME’s.
  • Collaborate closely with key business partners (functional/divisional heads, People Managers etc) to ensure that stakeholder relationships are developed and maintained on an ongoing basis and enable L&D to provide a partnership that adds real value.
  • Use available data and MI to gain valuable insight and understanding into potential capability gaps and learning needs.
  • Ensure the effective marketing and communicating of L&D offerings to the business to drive engagement and participation, including being a visible and pro-active advocate and role-model for the team.
  • Liaise and manage external partners, where required, to support and enable delivery of the broader L&D plan for Medivet.

Your skills and experience
  • A real passion for L&D with a strong understanding of the impact it can have on behavioural and cultural change.
  • Experience of working in an L&D partnering role in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven experience of identifying training needs, developing and implementing learning interventions, and evaluating learning outcomes
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to listen, influence and work collaboratively with people at all levels, including senior management.
  • Excellent understanding of instructional design, learning methodologies and different learning modalities i.e., instructor-led versus digitally enabled etc.
  • A good commercial mindset with proven experience of delivering learning solutions that drive business performance.
  • Evidence of strong business acumen including making evidence-based business decisions.
  • Strong facilitation and delivery skills.
  • Experience in managing external contracts and suppliers with a broad understanding of different L&D suppliers relevant to staff development
  • Excellent IT skills in general including Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to plan time effectively and manage multiple work streams.
  • Excellent project management skills.
