ROLE HEADLINES

Job type: Full time, minimum 37.5, typically 40 hours per week

Start date: Ideally 1 June 2024, but can be flexible (to an extent)

Location: Our office is located in King Street, Manchester, but remote and flexible working are supported

Salary range: £50-55k plus access to company share scheme

Annual leave: 25 days p.a. plus statutory Bank Holidays

Work visas: If you require a work visa to work in the UK, evidence that this is in place or it will not be considered

  • Develops its own data and software packages that support this transition using its own a dedicated software development team
  • Provides consultancy advice and support to both the public sector (at all geographic levels) and the private sector, aligned to its mission
  • Actively innovates and collaborates with like-minded and driven organisations to support and add value across all its activities, with a particular focus on facilitation and delivery of measurable carbon reduction activity in the built environment
  • Relentlessly focuses on understanding the needs of, and adding value to our customers, whether individual householders or multinational blue-chip companies

DUTIES AND DETAILS

Specific duties of this role include:

  • Help lead the build and development of Thermly’s digital products, including existing, deployed React applications, new projects, and live websites
  • Oversee a team of developers, holding weekly development team meetings and planning sessions
  • Mentor and support less experienced developers, providing technical advice and assistance when needed
  • Translate business goals and requirements into development tasks and workplans
  • Work alongside project managers and steering groups to create project scoping documents, user stories and detailed technical specifications
  • Communicating with stakeholders and clients in order to capture emerging requirements
  • Communicating with designers, the marketing team and SEO specialists in order to capture design input
  • Work within a growing development team, supporting colleagues with their work
  • Propose new development opportunities that could be undertaken by Thermly
  • Anything else that we need you to do – we are a small team and everyone contributes across the business when required to do so

CANDIDATE CHARACTERISTICS

We are looking for someone who can join Thermly and take on the responsibility of leading our small but growing development team. We

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate at least 5 years' experience working in software development. The candidate that we are looking for would be a confident developer who can offer a wealth of experience in delivering development projects .

Knowledge, experience and comfort working with the following technologies is required:

  • JavaScript
  • React.js, Node.js, or both
  • HTML and CSS
  • SQL
  • Git and GitHub

Experience or knowledge in the following is desirable:

  • Team leadership
  • DevOps, AWS EC2 and RDS
  • Agile project delivery
