Functional Skills Tutor - Maths
Hours; Full time - 37hrs per week, all year round
Duration; Temporary until 30th May 2024
Salary; up to GBP24,743 per annum + benefits (depending on experience and qualifications)
Location; Cross College role, Rotherham and Worksop (with subsidised travel) and potential for Hybrid Working
About the Role
As a Functional Skills Tutor, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of Maths accredited qualifications that form part of the Further Education programme for learners on an apprenticeship programme, or pre-apprenticeship programme, to gain their Functional Skills in Maths.
The delivery will take place across college sites, as well as at employer premises and will take place either online using contemporary blended learning methods and, or face to face, encompassing both 1:1 and group delivery (ability to travel to various locations is therefore essential).
Due to the nature of the role this will include both daytime and some evening work to meet the needs of the client group therefore, with authorisation, working from home is permitted for this role.
You will
You will be an experienced Functional Skills maths tutor delivering on apprenticeship programmes and previously monitored/tracked student progression and achievement.
You will hold a teaching qualification plus literacy and numeracy at level 2 or above. An assessors qualification is advantageous but not essential.
Your role in the department
As a member of the Work Based Learning department, you will report directly to the Maths and English Lead for Apprenticeships
You will build good working relationships with other key stakeholders i.e. Curriculum Areas, Work Based Learning Team Leaders, Assessors, coordinators and Additional Support staff, exams and MIS department.
