Role Overview
- The Community Development department deliver a range of programmes to improve the health and wellbeing of our communities.
- This exciting post will work both internally across Enable and externally within our communities to raise funds to support our programmes.
- The postholder will be responsible for writing bids/tenders and supporting colleagues and communities to develop fundraising skills.
- We are looking for someone who has experience of writing successful bids and bringing funding into community based projects.
- You should be comfortable communicating with a wide range of partners, have strong organisational skills, and good problem-solving abilities.
Job Purpose
- Lead on bid writing and applications for Community Development/across organisation, ensuring deadlines and reporting requirements are met.
- Research future prospects from (but not limited to) trusts and foundations, corporates and statutory sources.
- Develop workshops and trainings to support internal and external partners in funding issues.
- Develop a collection of case studies and staff profiles to support grant applications. Work with Marketing and Communications team to draft press releases from case studies.
- Understand procurement/commissioning and update teams with trends and priorities in Community Development, housing, social care and health.
- Evaluate successful and unsuccessful bids and/or proposals, getting feedback from commissioners, with a view to improving future submissions.
- Attend meetings and nurture relationships with commissioners at tender briefing and strategic and partnership forums as required.
- Ability to research best practice and evidence bases for different interventions and translate into proposals for real world work
- Working with the Senior Community Development manager to develop new funding initiatives within service/organisation strategic aims.
- 1-2 years fundraising or relevant experience.
- Excellent written communication skills, including meeting word limits, writing creatively and persuasively, and creating accurate and informative reports.
- Strong organisation skills, including experience of managing time in order to meet targets and tight deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build working and collaborative relationships with a diverse range of people.
- Proven ability of numeracy and verbal skills, including presenting and basic budgeting.
- Excellent research skills, which can be used to identify new funders, assess the external market, and understand our users’ needs.
- Willingness to work independently using your own initiative and prioritise effectively whilst at the same time working as part of a team on common goals and shared projects.
- Proficiency in MS applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook and Sharepoint Knowledge/experience and Salesforce.
