This is an exciting time to join Max Appeal, we’re looking for a Fundraising Manager to lead the fundraising activity, establishing and embedding a new funding culture that will expand and develop income generating activities and opportunities for the charity. You willalso be fully involved in the social media/comms activities which are key to drive knowledge/understanding of Max Appeal and to grow our income.
In this key role, you’llbe responsible for the development and delivery of the strategic and tactical plans and the engagement of support internally and externally to achieve the income targets and Max Appeal’s strategic objectives.
This role reports to the Chair of Max Appeal and works closely with the Board of Trustees.
Ideally you will be a member of the Institute of Fundraising and hold a Fundraising qualification, however this is not essential. With a proven track record of developing and delivering effective fundraising strategies, you’ll have experience of generating income from diverse revenue streams, including corporates, donors, individuals, and events. With an excellent ability to build long-term, productive relationships with supporters and donors, you’ll have excellent relationship management, interpersonal, and communication skills and can inspire diverse stakeholders and audiences.
We are flexible about your working pattern, with part time hours (22.5 hours a week) to suit your life - we just need c12 days per year for face-face meetings which will typically be in Birmingham/West Midlands. The ability to participate in evening and weekend work may also be required on occasion.
Some travel may be required elsewhere in the UK or even internationally on occasion (this would be pre-planned).

Max Appeal was founded by parents of children diagnosed with 22q11 Syndrome. We are a small national charity, run almost exclusively by a group of dedicated volunteers backed up with a knowledgeable panel of medical professionals. Max, who was the inspiration for our beginning had a short life but Max Appeal is a charity with a vibrant life and future of its own.
