An excellent opportunity to join Little's Funeral Service as a Funeral Service Operative becoming part of a team that cares for bereaved families across Glasgow.
Funeral Service Operatives play a vital role in our service and are often the first members of the team to meet our families when accompanying the funeral director on a first call.
In addition to bringing people's loved ones into our care, Funeral Service Operatives play an active role behind the scenes, working in the mortuary, fitting coffins, dressing the deceased as well as participating in Funeral Services, pallbearing, and helping to ensure everything goes smoothly.
Some other duties are as follows,
· To assist the funeral director with various tasks
· Bring deceased into care from hospitals, nursing homes, and own homes
· Transfer of deceased from various locations
· Collection and delivery of ashes
· Collection and delivery of documents
· Building and furnishing coffins
· Care of the deceased in the mortuary
· Assisting the funeral director on the day of the funeral (help with carrying of the coffin, floral tributes, and distribution of orders of service)
· Washing vehicles
· Occasional office cover in absence of the funeral director
· Taking part in the out of hours on-call rota (Including weekends and bank holidays)
· Transfer of remains
At Little's Funeral Service our main focus is providing the highest level of personal care to our clients. This role would suit applicants who have a caring and empathetic nature, take pride in their appearance, and have a good level of physical fitness due to some of the heavy lifting.
