The Funeral Service Operative (FSO) role includes direct contact with the families we serve, therefore as a representative of the company you will need to be able to maintain the high standards of customer care as set out in the company’s handbook.
The Funeral Service Operative's role includes a wide variety of tasks, some FSO's will have specific areas of responsibility, however everyone is expected to be able to carry out all tasks and will be expected to fully support their colleagues as operational requirements demand across the two sites, Romsey and North Baddesley.
A major part of your role will also include supporting other Funeral Directors as required
Key Deliverables
- Develop and maintain sensitive working relationships with clients.
- Preparation of all types of coffins and caskets.
- Drive and maintain all types of vehicles.
- Act as a bearer on all types of funerals and removals, including out of hours removals.
- Preparation of the deceased (excluding embalming) for burial or cremation, including placing in a coffin or casket and preparing them for viewing.
- Delivering, where necessary, any forms or documents in connection with the company’s business.
Additional Duties
- Any other reasonable duties at the request of the company, which are within your capabilities.
- Be responsible for the tidiness and cleanliness of all working areas.
- Maintain the health and safety and security of the working environment and abide at all times by the published health and safety guidelines for the role.
- Identify and support improvements to client services and business operations.
- Comply with all the company’s policies as outlined in the employee handbook and procedures manual..
