The Welcome Hut and Gardens team are Beaverbrooks first impression to the 400 acre estate. As soon as you arrive at the gates you will be welcomed by our team and directed to your location. The Gardening team are responsible for maintaining our gardens throughout the seasons and ensures the estate retains its natural beauty.
Title Gardener Location Welcome Hut & Gardens Department Gardens Closing 27/03/2024 Gardener up to 25,000 Per AnnumAn exciting vacancy has arisen for a driven and dynamic gardener with garden maintenance experience keen to continue to develop their gardening skills on a historic, 400 acre private estate in Surrey. The beautiful 25 acre garden is made up of herbaceous and mixed borders with a vast array of ornamental species including an Italian garden, kitchen garden, lawns, wildflower meadows and woodland areas.
Applicants for this role will ideally have either experience working in a private estate garden or hold a horticultural qualification (NVQ or similar) or both. We also believe in providing professional development opportunities to employees in the early stages of their career who demonstrate the right attitude and commitment.
Applicants will be involved in every aspect of professional horticulture including but not limited to pruning, propagation, seed sowing and cuttings, planting as well as general maintenance.
Candidates will have experience with general garden maintenance including mowing, weeding, strimming and hedge cutting. In addition, candidates will have good practical skills, be hands-on, and have with reasonable plant knowledge.

Skills required:
• Plant knowledge RHS Foundation in Horticulture Level 1
• Plant knowledge RHS level 2 or equivalent
• Pest and Disease Knowledge
• Fruit and Vegetable growing experience
• Competent in the use of Petrol Operated Machinery.
• PA1 and PA6 Spraying certificates (desirable)
• Chainsaw Certifications (desirable)
• Forestry or Woodland Management Experience (desirable)
Shift Pattern:
Working hours are Monday to Friday 7am -3.30pm, with some variation depending upon the season. Applicants will ideally have a full driving licence and own transport.
