General Machinist

We are looking for a General Machinist for a 12-month contract based in Washington on behalf of our globally respected client who develop cutting-edge technologies that deliver clean, safe and competitive solutions to meet the planet's vital power needs.

Purpose of the Role:

Vacancies have arisen for a number ofGeneral Machinistroles. The positions will report to a Production Leader and involve precision machining parts for the aerospace industry.

As a General Machinist you will be responsible for:

• Perform Manufacturing/Operational tasks consistent with the requirements of the team, statutory and company standards (e.g. Health, Safety, Environment, Quality Management).
• Participate in process improvement activities and compliance methodologies in order to satisfy customer needs and cost reduction targets. This may include elements of factory set up and workstation design.
• Follow production plans in order to meet customer requirements.
• Participate in cost reduction/operational improvements in order to satisfy customer needs.
• Contribute to achievement of cell performance targets.
• Recognise and perform asset maintenance activities in order to ensure that equipment and facilities are safe and reliable to a high performance standard.

What we require from the candidate:

• It is a requirement of the role that you will have completed a recognised time-served apprenticeship of at least 3 years, including NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
• Experience in one or more of the following processes:

• • Machining
  • Balance
  • De-burr
  • Broach
  • Abrasive Flow Machining (AFM)
  • Grind

• A willingness to learn and adapt across a range of product types, processes, machines, and technologies.
