A reputable and family-owned restaurant in Milton Keynes is seeking a General Manager to lead all aspects of the business to deliver a high-quality menu and motivate staff to provide excellent customer service. The General Manager will have experience in the catering or hospitality sector, ideally have worked in a restaurant environment. In addition, the General Manager will have strong financial management, customer service, and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate daily Front and Back of the House restaurant operations
- Deliver superior service and maximise customer satisfaction
- Respond efficiently and accurately to customer complaints
- Regularly review product quality and research new vendors
- Organise and supervise shifts
- Appraise staff performance and provide feedback to improve productivity
- Estimate future needs for goods, kitchen utensils and cleaning products
- Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety regulations
- Manage restaurant s good image and suggest ways to improve it
- Control operational costs and identify measures to cut waste
- Recommend ways to reach a broader audience (e.g. discounts and social media ads)
- Train new and current employees on proper customer service practices
- Implement policies and protocols that will maintain future restaurant operations
Knowledge, skills and qualifications:
Essential:
- Previously worked in a relevant managerial role in hospitality, catering or similar
- Excellent customer service experience as a manager
- Extensive food and beverage knowledge, with ability to remember and recall ingredients and dishes to customers and wait staff
- Able to learn restaurant management software
- Strong leadership, motivational and people skills
- Acute financial management skills
Desirables:
- Back of the house management experience
- BSc degree in Business Administration; hospitality management or culinary schooling
Salary: Circa GBP40,000
