NHFM also own the Northumbria Healthcare Manufacturing and Innovation Hub, unique to the NHS, manufacturing hub which creates personal protective equipment (PPE) for staff across the UK. The Manufacturing Hub is part of the larger complex of the Northumbria Manufacturing and Innovation Hub. This is a new role which the successful applicant can mould and develop and as such, we are looking to recruit a senior manager who is an experienced manufacturing leader to develop and deliver a new strategic vision for the role and a 3-year horizon plan
Job Description
This is a Senior Management Role within the NHFM Team responsible for the operational running of the Northumbria Manufacturing Hub. This is a growing manufacturing service, and as a Senior Leader you will develop the business plan to ensure business viability and expansion, driving performance in safety, quality, productivity, delivery and cost. You will use your technical manufacturing and textiles, fabrics or upholstery experience to utilise world leading management practices, delivering operational strategy, managing KPIs, providing inspirational and inclusive leadership and delivering on the annual business plan.
You will oversee Research and product development, validate volume requirements, understand and manage risk, utilise material planning system (MRP) to ensure accurate data and effective production scheduling, manage the budget for manufacturing and warehousing, ensure a high standard of compliance, develop the Equipment Investment Programme and take overall P&L responsibility for the manufacturing hub.
You will have direct line management responsibility with overall around 50 - 60 staff, implement best management practice utilising appraisals, KPIs and developing talent on the shop floor.
The Successful Applicant
- A significant background in manufacturing, textiles, upholstery or fabrics.
- Able to demonstrate ambition, drive and determination to develop and grow the capability of the Hub and be accountable.
- A degree in business, finance or manufacturing related discipline, and or additional or equivalent experience or qualifications.
- Able to evidence strong commercial and financial awareness over costs, production, manufacture and customer order fulfilment.
- An excellent communicator at all levels, strong interpersonal negotiation and influencing skills.

NHFM offer a significant benefits package, and can offer a salary of £70,417 - £81,138 dependent on experience and in line with NHS Agenda for Change Terms & Conditions
Relocation package of up to £8,000 available for a candidate relocating to the area.
