As a General Operative, you will carry out tasks set by site supervisors and gangers to a high and safe standard. Must be willing to do labouring work along with slinger duties, ideally shaft and tunnelling experience and a keen attitude to learn.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate and carry out job-set tasks!
Ensure have been briefed and understand all relevant risk and method statements
Use best/safest practices on all tasks carried out.
Checks on any equipment that may be used
Ensure a safe tidy place of work
Ensure the completion of work is on time
Implement best practice procedures.
Maximise use of own working time
Ensure signed up for all permits and briefings before commencing any work
Communication with site management
Communicate with the site supervisor on any health and safety concerns
Feedback to site management with near miss/close call reporting
Ensure attend all site briefings, forums, and toolbox talks

Person Specification:
The successful candidate is likely to meet all the following criteria:
Essential
A practical hands-on approach
Experience in general civil works including earthworks, drainage, ducting, and concreting
CSCS card for A40 All Duties, and A62 Crane Lifting Supervisor
CPCS card – Confined Space and City and Guild’s medium risk, would be an advantage, but not a necessity.
