SalaryGuidant Global is working in partnership with our client, a leading Defence and Missile company that is a trusted partner of the UK Ministry of Defence, to find a skilled General Operator. The role involves carrying out various manufacturing and self-certification tasks within the business while adhering to product certification procedures and workmanship standards and allocating budgets and timelines to achieve project objectives.
The role of the General Operator is to ensure smooth workflow and information exchange in the manufacturing area while adhering to established standards and protocols.
What we're looking for:
- CCA (Circuit Card Assmebly) experience
- PCB (Printed Circuit Board) experience
- Dexterity for fine work.
- Read and interpret layouts
- Ensuring meticulous attention to detail and adhering to instructions are key
- Take initiative and excel with minimal guidance.
- PC literate.
- Machine working
- Apply small amounts of paint and resin by hand to seal critical components on circuit boards.
- Apply clear protective coatings to entire boards.
What you'll get to do as an Operator General (FA):
The candidate is expected to perform meticulous assembly and manufacturing tasks according to established procedures, quality standards, safety regulations, and deadlines. It is essential to execute these duties with precision while strictly adhering to prescribed protocols, excellence benchmarks, safety policies, and timelines. Adhering to all health and safety regulations is crucial and always expected. The operation of machinery will be minimal. IPC-A-610 (Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies)Certification or training is preferred for this job.
Tentatively work across several departments, these might include:
- Looming (wiring, root wiring, and fibre optics cabling)
- PEC (Printed Electronic Component) Assembly and Plastics Department highly essential (examples, applying glues, cutting out intricate patterns, and moulding and standard printing equipment, including screen printing, flexography, gravure, offset lithography, and inkjet, by defining patterns on the material.).
- Manufacturing Control/ Stores (Kitting, SAP, Picking goods inwards).
