NICE is seeking an experienced GP in active clinical practice to work 2 days/week to support the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and their team in ensuring that NICE gets its guidance and advice right for GPs. This is an exciting new role working alongside a clinical multidisciplinary team of doctors, pharmacists, a social care adviser and a nurse adviser so that NICE’s work has the right clinical and care focus across all its programmes of work.
Importantly, the GP Clinical Adviser will be a credible face for NICE and be seen as the NICE expert on primary care by those working both in other organisations and within NICE. The role would suit someone looking for career development who is comfortable working with evidence to bring about change and make a meaningful impact.
The post holder will:
- Provide a primary care perspective to NICE’s work, ensuring that impact on primary care is considered in all guidance.
- With the CMO, represent NICE both on primary care issues and with primary care stakeholders as well as with the wider primary care community.
- Provide clinical leadership to a suite of NICE guidance and contribute to its quality assurance, and to the development of the methodologies and processes that underpin the production of this guidance.
- Provide clinical advice and oversight to support decision-making and associated outputs throughout the lifecycle of a suite of NICE guidance.
