Job Title: Geotechnical Engineer
Location: St. Helens
Salary: £30,000 - £50,000
The Client
Our client are a multidisciplinary engineering consultancy based in St. Helens, they have 20 technical staff across the civil, structural and Geotechnical Engineering teams. They complete detailed design across the residential, commercial and industrial sectors and have a growing portfolio and ambitious plans to increase the workload across all three sectors. They are looking to add an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to their team.
The Role
Due to an increase in Workload, the Geotechnical team are looking at expanding with a Geotechnical / Senior Geotechnical Engineer to sit directly under the Associate Director to help manage projects from inception through to completion, Your work as a Senior Geotechnical Engineer will consist of reviewing project deliverables across desk studies, risk assessments, foundation assessments,
piling/earthworks specs, as well as detailed design across all aspects of
slopes, foundations and retaining structures etc.
The Person
- As a Senior Geotechnical / Geotechnical Engineer, you should be able to demonstrate:
- Degree in Civil Engineering or similar.
- Will have proven previous experience of undertaking: geotechnical desk studies; procuring & supervising Ground Investigations (GIs), Demonstrable experience of geotechnical design together with a familiarity of design submission documentation.
- This includes a demonstrable understanding of the underlying principles and a knowledge of Eurocode 7 Ability to use a range of geotechnical software/FE for the design of civil engineering projects including the following: deep and shallow foundations (including pile group analysis); embedded and gravity retaining walls; earthworks/slope stability; reinforced earthworks etc.
