Your new role, what's involved?
- Provide GIS support to all areas of the business as required.
- Assist in developing efficient working practices to provide industry-leading, best-value services to our clients.
- Undertaking GIS mapping, analysis, data capture, data management and geoprocessing.
- Analysing and developing databases.
- Create & maintain web and mobile map applications published via ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Enterprise.
- Preparing and coordinating work for GIS staff based in the UK and overseas.
- Liaising with internal and external clients.
- Providing GIS technical mentoring to junior GIS staff.
- Develop and maintain QA on datasets and figures.
- Working with the GIS team to deliver GIS deliverables to tight deadlines.
- Contributing to the technical development of the GIS team through sharing ideas and innovations.
- Undertake own continuous professional development.
- Occasional travel to other offices for business development and project meetings.
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
- Bachelor’s Degree in GIS, Environmental Science, Planning, or a related field.
- Post-education experience within the discipline with prior GIS experience.
- Core principles of GIS and GIS data management.
- ArcGIS Desktop/Pro, Enterprise Geodatabases, ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Online, QGIS.
- Understanding of relational databases and geodatabase design.
- Geospatial data processing and analysis.
- Good experience in configuring and developing web applications using Web AppBuilder, Experience Builder, Operations Dashboard, and Story Map.
- Experience in setting up mobile data collection using Collector for ArcGIS, Field Maps, Survey123.
- Some previous experience in GIS project management.
- Identifying innovative solutions to problems and driving the development of these.
- Customer-focused approach to quality and service.
- Proactive approach to developing new skills and keeping up to date with technology.
- Awareness of Open-Source software and data
Knowledge and experience of the following is desirable but not essential:
- Python
- Model Builder
- FME
