SalaryMy client, a market leading, UK based Environmental Consultancy, is searching for a GIS Consultant to join their Team of Engineers and Consultants based in Sheffield.
Applicants are required to have a BSc and/or MSc or PhD in a related discipline including Geography, Environmental Science or GIS and have experience completing data/geospatial analysis and GIS mapping using ArcGIS or QGIS ideally for environmental or ecological projects.
Candidates are required to have a valid driving licence to attend site visits when required.
As a GIS Consultant you will have the opportunity to complete varied projects spanning flood risk, water supply, water resources and ecological projects for Local Authorities, Water Companies, Private Sector Clients and Housing Developers in the UK and overseas. You will be expected to complete detailed maps using ArcGIS and QGIS and complete the following;
-Data manipulation.
-Analyse satellite imagery of terrain maps, flood risk and ecological data.
-Spectral imagery analysis for geospatial proximity analysis, water resources management and land use characterisation.
You will also have the opportunity to liaise with Clients.
