This is a hybrid position primarily based in Bristol or Edinburgh. The Global Information Security (GIS) team is responsible for driving the development, deployment, monitoring and management of information and cyber security across the Computershare businesses, globally. Through partnerships with the business units, Technology Services and other support functions, the Global Information Security team actively supports the business objectives whilst reducing the overall composite risk to Computershare.

The Global Security Operations team is responsible for delivering a comprehensive portfolio of technical security control and monitoring services across all the global Computershare environments.

GIS is on the look out for a Global Head of Security Operations Centre ( SOC )

The Global HeadSecurity Operations Centre (SOC) is a vital leader of the GIS senior leadership team, accountable for security monitoring, detection, response, and threat remediation. They work across all regions to ensure a consistent delivery of in-depth technical security services for our most critical applications and infrastructure to ensure that they are highly resilient against existing and emerging cyber security threats.

Leading the Security Operations Centre and with the support of SOC analysts this role is accountable for a global incident responder function using a wide variety of best-in-class tools.

The Global Head of SOC is responsible for shaping and maintaining a mature and integrated framework for incident response, triaging incidents, security monitoring and supporting security engineering projects to improve Computershare’s cybersecurity defence posture with automation, orchestration, and analytics.

The role necessitates the ability to influence senior business and technology leadership in all global business units. Regular 1:1 engagement with senior external and internal stakeholders in all areas of the global Computershare business is required for the role.

Responsibilities

The overall purpose of the role is to ensure that the Security Operations Centre achieves its operational objectives by monitoring and implementing operational processes, practices, and standards of the SOC.

The role will be responsible for:

  • Collaborate with the CTSO and Global Security Operations to shape a comprehensive, multi-year security vision and enterprise-wide strategy.
  • Act as the primary contact and 24/7 escalation point for the Security Operations Centre (SOC).
  • Supervise all aspects of SOC operations, including threat detection, alert triage, threat hunting, and incident response.
  • Streamline SOC workflows, processes, and headcount planning, following a 24/7 follow-the-sun model for continuous improvements.
  • Develop and implement security policies, processes, and standards related to SOC operations, data protection, and access controls.
  • Provide strategic leadership to global information Security Operations staff in EMEA, North America, and Oceania regions.
  • Maintain a forward-looking perspective on emerging security and technology developments, collaborating with the Security Architecture team for research and evaluation of additional technologies.
