Global People Development (GPD) create, align and execute the strategy for developing our people across M&G plc, aligned with our purpose. The team is a high performing HR Centre of Expertise with a pursuit for prioritising and developing business driven people capabilities whilst delivering an exceptional learner experience. They execute high quality and impactful solutions to meet our strategic priorities, encompassing our behaviours and developing our culture.
We are on a journey of moving from a culture of development being "pushed" to individuals to a self-service "pull" using a mix of high impact, scalable digital solutions and bespoke programmes.
Collaboration with stakeholders at all levels including HR Business Partners, Business Leadership Teams, Steering and User Groups, International colleagues and external partners is a key factor to success in the role .
Target audiences within the scope of this role are: individual contributors (all levels), people managers and senior leaders.
Note: Technical training resides within each division and is therefore out of scope of this role and the GPD team.
Key accountabilities for Experienced Colleague level roles:
  • Accountable for providing a quality service or product to customers and stakeholders, using skills/experience built through significant practical experience or training
  • For team leaders, accountable for ensuring the team the role supports is delivering a quality service or product
  • Works within established frameworks and procedures, with the freedom to interpret them to solve a range of problems
  • Delivers outputs that are clearly defined, using discretion over how to achieve them
  • Makes suggestions for improvements to the work of the team, based on previous experience and knowledge of similar situations

Key accountabilities for this role:
  • Partners with key stakeholders across the business to drive the delivery of solutions.
  • Creates learning programmes and interventions that support employee development and align with the long-term objectives and evolving needs of our businesses.
  • Builds an awareness of industry changes and an understanding of new digital learning practices.
  • Understands the learning needs across the business.
  • Designs, creates content and delivers the relevant and agreed curriculum using both internal and external resources.
  • Ensures exceptional learner experiences that engage and excite learners across M&G.
  • Collaborates with ease with stakeholders including Senior/HR Business Partners, Senior Leaders and User Groups.
  • Shows up as an ambassador for Global People Development, role modelling M&G behaviours.
  • Adopts agile working practices, focusing execution, delivery and iterative reviews.
  • Proactively take ownership for driving continuous improvement.
  • Uses external thought leadership, data and customer feedback to generate insights and drive future performance.
  • Owns, develops, manages and optimises external vendor partnerships.

Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
  • Experience and knowledge of design, delivery and evaluation of learning solutions - including virtual and digital.
  • Highly collaborative and autonomous working style with a clear focus on delivering outcomes.
  • Proactive self-starter combined with a clear need to achieve the highest quality outcome.
  • Strong and credible impact: able to take people with them.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual reasoning skills.
  • Ability to move fluidly through detail and big picture negotiations and concepts.
  • Connected to the external market to understand best practice and bring in appropriate solutions for M&G plc colleagues.
  • Proven skills in delivering high quality work within constrained timescales.
  • Demonstrable experience of influencing and reporting to stakeholders.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Technical experience of optimising internal communication channels, digital learning platforms and learning management systems to deliver an exceptional learner experience.
  • Uses data to generate insights to drive future performance.
