Are you passionate about information governance and records management? Marie Curie is seeking a dedicated Records Officer to support our Information Governance Manager in ensuring compliance, audit readiness, and effective management of records. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the heart of our organisation, where your expertise will make a lasting impact on the charity's mission. Internal collaboration is essential. You will work closely with the Information Governance Manager, Data Management Team, and key stakeholders within the charity, including IT, Finance, HR, Legal, Procurement, Fundraising, and Caring Services.
As a Records Officer at Marie Curie, you will:
- Assist in implementing information and records management policies.
- Provide advice and guidance to staff on Information Governance (IG) and Data Protection.
- Conduct spot checks and monitoring of controls related to information and records management.
- Support teams across the charity on record management and retention issues.
- Liaise with external off-site storage providers.
- Collaborate with the Information Governance Manager to review historic archives and create an action plan for their management.
- Work on the development and improvement of archiving processes.
- Manage the internal privacy portal to ensure accessibility of relevant policies, guidance, templates, and forms.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of data privacy training and promote data protection within the Charity.
- Provide ad-hoc support to the Information Governance Manager and Data Protection Officer (DPO).

- Strong understanding of data protection principles and practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with various teams and stakeholders.
- Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
