Are you an experienced GP receptionist seeking a challenging and rewarding role in a new private GP clinic? We seek a highly organised and efficient individual to join our team as a GP Receptionist. Experience as a GP receptionist and familiarity with other relevant skills are highly preferable.
Responsibilities:
- Greeting patients and visitors warmly and friendly, ensuring they feel welcome and comfortable.
- Managing a busy reception desk, handling incoming calls, scheduling appointments, and managing patient inquiries.
- Maintaining patient records and ensuring accurate data entry.
- Coordinating and managing the flow of patients, ensuring efficient and timely service delivery.
- Assisting in coordinating medical tests and procedures, including liaising with laboratories and other healthcare providers.
-Managing incoming/outgoing post and processing letters. Dealing with and handling queries.
- Be able to book/cancel patient appointments, input patient data on the medical system, general administration duties.
- Maintain accurate computerised patient records, register new patients on to the clinical system, amend registration details, scan clinical documents and input clinical data accurately and in line with practice protocol.
- Handling confidential patient information carefully and adhering to data protection regulations.
- Providing administrative support to the clinic, including managing stock, ordering supplies, and maintaining office equipment.
- Collaborating with healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, and support staff, to ensure seamless patient care.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a GP receptionist/ administrator
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively.
-GCSE Math's & English Grade C or above or equivalent (Essential/Desired)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with patients, staff, and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in using computer systems and software, including Microsoft word, excel, and the medical system.
- A proactive and flexible approach to work.
- A high level of attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of work.
- Empathy and compassion in dealing with patients, ensuring their needs and concerns are sensitively addressed.
- Be happy to undergo a DBS check or have a DBS certificate dated within a year.
The Surgery is open between 8.00am – 6.00pm, Monday – Friday so shifts will be a mixture of hours across the week with some early and some late (6.00pm) finishes.
Job Type: 2 full-time/part time permanent positions available.
