Headway Birmingham & Solihull are a leading Brain Injury Charity. Our ABI Services Team provide support, services and guidance for people with an Acquired Brain Injury enabling them to improve their independence at home and in the community leading to an improved quality of life.

Headway Birmingham & Solihull are looking to recruit a RECEPTIONIST / CENTRE ASSISTANT to work Monday, Wednesday and Friday (15 hours per week) to provide administrative and centre/reception services that support the smooth running of our Headway House centre.
Duties include: -
· A genuine interest in helping brain injured people and their families along with an understanding of the challenges of caring.
· A good communicator at all levels with an open and friendly manner who is able to generate the confidence and respect of visitors and who also possesses a good sense of humour.
· Confident in dealing with incoming/outgoing telephone calls professionally; handling, diverting and taking messages as appropriate. Ability to make outgoing calls on behalf of management as required.
· To be part of the Headway House Team, working flexibly and contributing to wider activities and emergency situations as required, always upholding company policies.
· Arrange and manage the lunch system. Assist with making drinks and lunches for clients, ensuring that they are served at the correct times.
· Register attendances/absences of clients accurately, chasing clients who are not attending. Maintain Keep all files, records and databases updated, complete and in good order.
· Supervise the arrival and departure of clients each day, including responsibility for collection and return of personal belongings.
· Carry out assigned domestic chores at the end of each day e.g washing up, tidying and putting materials away. Cover general cleaning duties in the absence of regular cleaner.
· Confident in the correct use and care of PCs, data entry onto Tagtronics system, updating spreadsheets and using formulas as required. Highly proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel, Publisher and Word.
· Educated to CGSE/O-Levels with a good standard of English and Maths with a Business Administration qualification/office or secretarial qualification.
Previous experience of working with people with disabilities and knowledge of brain injury is desirable.
The successful candidate will require an enhanced DBS, the cost of which will be met by the employer.
