A fantastic opportunity to join an established Property/Real Estate company based in Canary Wharf in a brand-new role. You will have a relevant degree (Finance, Maths, Economics) and A Level’s at C grade or above. This role is offering exceptional career progression with Study Support provided. You will have a desire to learn and be committed to becoming fully qualified, while developing your practical experience long-term.
Strong Excel skills are essential, with an interest in Property being advantageous.
Role:
- Preparing balances sheet reconciliations for debtors and creditors. Ensuring that reconciling items are resolved in a timely fashion and collaborating with teams to encourage accurate and timely reporting.
- Review of trade debtor and trade creditor listings for intercompany items and building ongoing working relationships with the AP & AR teams to ensure timely settlement. Preparation of quarterly representation journals for outstanding items and review of aged items.
- Preparing analysis of accruals and prepayments to compare with previous periods, ensuring that the balance sheet is reflective of the latest business expectations.
- Working to support the success of the Group audit, including preparation and maintenance of audit support file and regular and routine liaison with auditors on progress of deliverables with the team. Ensuring that all audit requests are satisfied and owning successful delivery of documents.
- End to end support of balance sheet reporting, preparing adjusting journals with audit trail support, to accurately correct posting errors identified by Group Accountants and from the individual’s reconciliation processes.
- Execution of and reconciliations for monthly payroll journals for payrolls, including accruals for amounts cross charged to other entities, understanding how entities across the Group interact and trade.
- Working effectively with the Tax department to reconcile the tax positions of the Group and post the provisions, supporting the Group Accounts Manager in curating the quarterly tax financial reporting disclosures.
- Must be educated to degree level or equivalent with a finance or accounting background and committed to training for ACCA. Exposure to the property industry will be an advantage.
- Strong desire to learn and develop. Bring energy and passion for what they do.
- A self-starter that is prepared to challenge the norm and explore new ways of doing things. Must be interested in pursuing a career in accountancy.
- Must be able to demonstrate competence at reconciliations.
- Must be computer literate with the ability to adapt to new software products. Strong Excel skills are required.
- Must be collaborative in order to build relationships across the organisation with a strong sense of team work. Must be able to communicate effectively at all levels.
- Attention to detail and agility to work across a range of areas is critical. Must be able to take ownership of tasks, bear responsibility for work produced. Must be able to demonstrate academic success.
