We are looking for an experienced administrator to oversee and manage the delivery of two funding programmes for postgraduate studentships within the School of Clinical Medicine (the Doctoral Training Programme in Medical Research and the MRC iCASE programme).
Reporting to the Funding Programmes Manager, and working closely with the Programme Director, you will manage the administration of the advertising and recruiting of students to the programs, as well as ensuring the maintenance of records, including financial, relating to the students and programs.
You will have line management responsibility for a member of administrative support staff who is responsible for a number of areas of operational activity supporting the programs. The line management responsibility includes recruitment, induction and probation, training and development of any support staff allocated to the area.
You will also act as Committee Secretary to four trust fund management boards which meet on an annual basis and oversee the administration of awards from those funds.
The successful candidate will need the ability to develop good working relationships with key stakeholders and colleagues, they will also have excellent administration skills, as well as the ability to plan, prioritise and organise their own, and the areas, workload. The role manages the grants for the studentship programmes, so experience and knowledge of the budgets and financial reporting is required, as is attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
Training will be given in the specialist areas of the post.
The post is based at the Cambridge Biomedical Campus, but hybrid working is available.
