Graduate Chemist

Blueprint Recruitment has an exciting new opportunity for a committed Graduate to join an international Design and Solutions Company on a permanent basis. This role requires presence in the Preston area to work on a variety of scientific projects surrounding hazardous waste and chemicals. This exciting opportunity provides the successful Chemist with the chance to collaborate with experienced, Maintenance Engineers, Site Chemists, Consultants and Chempac Engineers. Our client operates in a variety of sectors, including Water, Pharmaceutical, Oil and gas, Transport, Defence and Chemical.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collecting wastes from customer sites
• To list, package and label wastes and assess drums and their contents at customer premises
• To pump, decant and re-drum rusty or leaking containers
• Conduct assessments of new enquiries and provide technical knowledge to customers/company employees
• Assisting when needed at a transfer station
• Supervision of dangerous loads and sampling of wastes
• Maintain adequate stock levels of routine supplies
• Accurate completion of all documentation and quick processing of all paperwork to facilitate customer expectations
• Other duties as assigned by management

Key Requirements:

• Must have a UK driving license
• A science-based degree ideally in Chemistry
• Previous experience with hazardous waste
• Strong understanding about health and safety
• Must be comfortable driving a 3.5t van
• Good communication skills and the ability to build rapport with customers are essential
