As we grow and scale, we're looking for an Events Marketing Intern to join our fast-paced Events Team over the summer months to support on a number of our fantastic events!

The Role:

As an Events Marketing Intern, you'll join a supportive and collaborative Events Team. The team has two arms, and you'll be working directly with the Events Marketing team members on a wide range of projects & responsibilities. We're an all-hands-on-deck team, so you'll also get the chance to collaborate with the Event Managers and other interns to support with delivery tasks when needed.

The ideal candidate will be a final-year student or recent graduate looking for a fully-paid summer internship from May – September 2024. This is a prime opportunity to get some fantastic exposure to a fast-paced events team!

Specifically, you will:

  • Support the Events Marketing team in creating digital event marketing campaigns to drive event applications
  • Assist with the creation and development of relevant content for the Bright Network website and social media accounts (namely Instagram and TikTok)
  • Review and proof-read digital and print marketing materials to ensure high-quality content is communicated to our members
  • Create and execute the social media strategy for upcoming events
  • Assist with end-to-end event management of our current portfolio of events, including supporting with on-the-day delivery at events
  • Assist with post-event analysis and return on investment reporting
  • Support with community management – including managing pre-event online community groups (Guild) and Student Leadership Boards

  • You're available to undertake a full-time, paid internship this summer from May to September (a delayed start date of early June may be possible for the right candidate!)
  • You pride yourself on being a diligent and reliable team player who is punctual, with strong organisational and time management skills
  • You are passionate about the Bright Network mission and how we support our members
  • You can demonstrate a passion for marketing through your extra-curricular involvement or prior relevant work experience
  • You're creative, with meticulous attention to detail
  • You have strong written and verbal communication skills and could be especially charismatic when interacting with high-profile clients and Bright Network members
  • You're a proficient and regular user of social media and would enjoy the opportunity to create content on a programme like Canva
  • Excited to work in a collaborative team, but also able to use your initiative and work independently at pace within a fast-moving work environment
  • You share Bright Network's core values of growth mindset, will to win and trusted deliver,
  • You are willing to travel into central London for our in-person events (occasionally outside of normal working hours) and work in the office ~3 days a week with the flexibility to come in more regularly when required - usually surrounding key event dates

The right candidate, who subsequently excels as an intern, could have an opportunity to progress to a permanent member of the team, if suitable for the team structure at the time of the internship contract ending!

  • Reporting to: Senior Events Marketing Executive

We have listed key event dates you will be required to attend below. If you have a holiday booked during these dates, please don't panic and don't let this stop you from applying! Just let us know as soon as possible in the application process so we are aware sooner rather than later:

  • Internship Experience UK – Monday 17th June – Thursday 20th June
  • Future Lawyers – Monday 2nd September
  • Women in Leadership – Thursday 5th September
  • Women in TEC – Friday 6th September
  • Black Heritage Future Leaders – Monday 9th September
  • FESTIVAL – Thursday 12th (set-up day) – Friday 13th September
  • Bright Network's annual summer social for clients will take place in early June, with the hours needed for Events Team support likely to be 5pm – 11pm.
  • Our annual offsite event will take place on 31st July – 1st August. This is an overnight, expenses-paid trip where you will be able to collaborate with the wider team!

Application & Interview Process:

  • Initial 20-minute Zoom call with our Internal Talent Partner
  • 1st round: 45-minute interview with a member of our Events Team
  • 2nd round: 75-minute combined presentation & values interview
  • Final round: Final chat with our Events Director, Vivian Wadler
