We have an exciting opportunity for a Group Environment Manager to join our Responsible Business Team and work alongside our Group Head of Environmental Sustainability. This role will focus on the delivery of our environmental and sustainability elements within Kier's Building for a Sustainable World (BfaSW) framework.
Location: Flexible on location with travel as required
Contract: Permanent, full-time and part-time opportunities will be considered
Responsibilities
As a Group Environment Manager, your day-to-day responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Leading on the delivery of specific elements of Kier's Building for a Sustainable World framework and providing the advice and information necessary for the operational teams to deliver their service in a continually, improving sustainable manner.
- Working closely with leadership teams and corporate support functions to drive and embed first-class Environment and Sustainability management and assurance.
- Responsibility for engaging senior levels of the organisation to promote and embed continuous improvement programmes envisioned by the business.
- Actively engaging and influencing the business streams ensuring they understand and are up-to-date with environmental and sustainability legislation and remain on course to achieve their targets.
- Supporting the development and implementation of the businesses environmental and sustainability programmes.
- Representing Kier on environment/sustainability Groups and NGOs and maintaining partnerships with other organisations to share best practice.
What are we looking for?
The role of Group Environment Manager, is great for you if you have:
- Extensive knowledge of current environment and sustainability policy and legislation, sustainability fundamentals, business and governance, management tools, KPI setting / delivery and risk & opportunity management.
- Extensive knowledge of ISO Standards – ISO14001 and Lead Auditor Trained: ISO14001.
- Experience of managing major incidents through the legal process
- Demonstrable leadership skills and an ability to manage and effectively communicate with key stakeholders.
- An ability to consult and make decisions across all levels in the business.
- An ability to prioritise and manage conflicting projects / demands.
