Amidst an uncertain macroeconomic environment and evolving regulatory landscape, we are expanding our Financial Control team and looking for an experienced Group External Reporting Manager.
As part of the Financial Control team, you will join a group known for its subject matter expertise and extensive network across the business. Our team's technical expertise is actively sought for significant initiatives, including acquisitions, development of new business areas, changes in accounting standards, and the design of cutting-edge finance systems.

This role presents a unique opportunity for an experienced Financial Accountant to collaborate with senior management, drive impactful change, and contribute to the enhancement of our financial reporting discipline.
The UK firm's reporting group oversees around 60 UK subsidiaries, Middle East and Channel Islands firms, and various joint ventures and associates globally. Beyond the core focus on financial reporting deliverables, statutory reporting, and defining accounting policies, individuals in this role will be exposed to a myriad of diverse work streams within the team.
About the Role:
As a Group External Reporting Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering the group's consolidated and subsidiary financial statements, energy and carbon reports, and advising on complex technical accounting matters.
This position offers a unique opportunity to influence change, collaborate with senior management, and contribute to the development and implementation of technology and alternative delivery models.
The role reports to the Group External Reporting Director supported by our two experienced senior managers. The role provides development and coaching opportunities, supporting the leadership of the team alongside our other managers and senior associates. The role is varied, including a large proportion of project activity and interaction at senior stakeholder level, including the CFO, Finance Partner and Audit Committee.

Key Responsibilities:
Produce consolidated results, financial statements, and energy and carbon reports, managing timelines and information collection from various teams across the firm Demonstrate best practice in financial reporting, staying abreast of the latest developments, including ESG reporting Manage the relationship with the client-facing accounting technical team to obtain independent sign-off on significant accounting issues Provide expertise and data for year-end publications, including the online annual report, transparency report, and sustainability report Review annual 'country-by-country' tax reporting Support the preparation and review of financial statements for various entities under IFRS, including detailed explanatory memorandums for the entities' directors and OneFinance leadership. This requires liaising closely with the external auditors and internal specialists from the Tax, Treasury and Company Secretarial teams Provide an informed and independent finance risk perspective on large change projects and new regulatory requirements Own the financial control framework and methodology, ensuring 2nd line controls are in place. Coach best practices across the business and support continuous process improvement Collaborate with colleagues from across the PwC global network in delivering joint initiatives As Finance's subject matter experts in various financial reporting domains, the team is responsible for:
Technical Accounting Papers: preparation of papers related to acquisitions, disposals, new business areas, and emerging accounting standards Reserve Accounting: monthly reporting to OneFinance leadership on reserve accounting matters Global Cost Accounting: annual budgeting and ad-hoc forecasting for global cost accounting initiatives Acquisition Accounting: handling goodwill calculations, opening balance entry and clearance, and accounting for post-acquisition costs such as deferred consideration. Treasury Accounting: conducting FX analysis and providing technical advice on hedge accounting Troublesome Practice Matters Accounting: m onthly reporting to the Finance Partner and Head of Litigation on matters requiring specialized attention Essential Skills and Experience:
Qualified accountant (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with a minimum of 3 years PQE in auditing, financial controllership, or finance business partnering Proven experience influencing at a senior level and managing cross-functional teams through transformation Experience within the technology space and a track record of digital enablement in transforming financial processes Commercially-focused with a track record in driving operational bottom-line value Excellent organizational skills with the ability to lead multiple work streams and deliver projects to deadlines High impact communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence business direction Proven people management and leadership skills, fostering a collaborative team environment.
